Installation of « Fragments de territoires » in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon

This long-term artistic project, titled « Fragments de territoires », continues on from the photographic series « Mémoire de Paysages ». It marks a move towards urban art, rooted in the native archipelago of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. This permanent installation is conceived as a work of fine-art photography and a documentary exploration of my creative process, produced in collaboration with Lionel Boisseau and co-produced by France Télévision and Merapi Productions. Inspired by urban art and land art, it engages in a dialogue between the landscapes of the archipelago and those of major European cities, notably the Paris region, through a process of digital collage. The works, spread across four islands, are set into the urban and natural landscape at the precise location of their photographic inspiration, offering a reflection on visual and cultural dualities. Installed in September 2022, this artistic intervention is intended to remain in the public space for years to come, bearing witness to a deep commitment to the territory of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

The final installation in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon was completed in September 2022 and is intended to remain in place for the coming months, or even years, depending on the impact of the local climate. It comprises 20 works measuring 1.65×1.10m and 1.10×1.37m excluding mounts, spread across 4 islands, in urban spaces and in nature. Each work is installed at the location where the photograph on the island was taken, and is to be interpreted in relation to its place of installation. This project received support from the ministère de la Culture, the conseil territorial and the municipalities of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, and brought together support from local businesses as well as members of civil society.
