Viparis: Simplicity and Functionality

Recently, I had the honour of photographing the exclusive furniture of the Carrousel rooms for Viparis’s catalogues, using specialised lighting equipment, such as studio flashes and light modifiers, to capture the essence and elegance of the furniture.

A defining artistic choice was to preserve the venue’s natural stone wall as a backdrop for the photographs, rather than opting for a traditional white background. This decision aimed to preserve the exceptional character and authenticity of the Carrousel rooms, incorporating their unique aesthetic into each shot. This choice not only helped showcase the furniture, but also added an extra dimension to the images, reflecting the synergy between the furniture and its historical setting. My work therefore required great attention to detail and a thorough understanding of light, resulting in a series of photographs that highlight the sophistication and unique character of the Carrousel rooms.
