Set on the Giens peninsula, this house by Robert Grace Architecture composes with the sea and the pine grove. The volumes are organised around framed views of the horizon, between transparency and withdrawal.
The photographic approach explores this architecture of the threshold, where light reflects off walls of concrete, glass and wood. The building partly disappears into the vegetation, preserving the continuity of the site.
Light and horizon
The sessions were carried out at different times of day, from diffuse morning light to the golden hour, to capture the shifts in tone and the way light slides across the surfaces. Each image seeks to catch the breath of the place, its clarity and its density, in a calm atmosphere.
A photographer’s eye
This series opens the collaboration with Robert Grace Architecture. It asserts an approach in which architectural photography does not merely document a building, but questions the way a space settles into its environment. At Giens, light becomes a construction material in its own right.
